I’m not a huge sci-fi or fantasy guy. At least, I haven’t gravitated towards the genre as a reader. On screen, I’m happily willing to suspend belief for a few hours and lose myself in a good yarn. Maybe I should read more sci-fi and fantasy.
Anyhow, I just found out that one of my all time satirists died yesterday. Robert Asprin. Bob, as he was affectionately known to his fans, authored my beloved series, the M.Y.T.H. Adventures. Most people called Bob a fantasy writer. To me, he was a brilliant satirist, whose comedic style and clever phrase-turning often inspired me.
Much like Douglas Adams, the Earth’s spin rotates just a touch less interestingly today with his passing.
