…That my friend Nate was ridiculously talented. Add to that the fact that he’s driven, and I know it’s just a matter of time before he’s a household name. As for now, at least among the legions of would be college comic-strip artists, he’s already there. Nate’s one of three finalists across the nation for the Associated Collegiate Press Cartooning Award (in the comic panel/strip category). This competition is co-sponsored by the Universal Press Syndicate—Dear Abby, Ann Coulter, and Ted Rall are among the UP syndicates stable of columnists, and just about every major comic strip is carried on their wire. In other words, Nate’s just a step away from being the next Bill Watterson. Indeed, I personally think Nate’s art alone is as good as the best nationally syndicated strips out there; and better than 99 percent of the rest.
Here’s the link to the strip that made it to the final ballot. Note, I’ve been “syndicating” Nate’s comic (see the button over there in the right hand iframe?) since he started it. And I’ve never even been to Mesa State College.
Mazeltov, my friend!
I knew before all of you…
