In the box to the right (yours, not mine…), there’s a new link. That link will take you to a page I’ve set up called, “The story generator.”
The story generator is where you come in. What you do is click on the comments link below the most recent post. In the comment section, write down these three things:
1) A setting. This can be as general as “Denver” or as specific as “Inside room 421 at East High school at Colfax and Esplanade Streets.” Please try to as brief as possible, and don’t get carried away with details. Keep it to under 20 words.
2) A protagonist. Again, it can be “A man” or “Mar’z Monnz, a 324-year-old from the methane sea city of Kran’shd on the planet Vega-mark-7 in the Vegan system.” Again, be brief; under 20 words, please.
3) A theme. “Western,” “Sci-fi,” “Romantic Comedy,” “Existential tragedy.” Give me a point of reference to work within
Each week, I’ll pick one in as random a matter as possible. And then, I’ll write a story to go with it. The submitter will not only be credited with the story idea, but I will find a way to work the submitter’s name into the story.
Remember, anything and everything is copyright to me, so make sure you submit story ideas you don’t care losing. Who knows, when I’m all done with this experiment, maybe I’ll wrap it up and ship it off to some publisher and make a million dollars. And I’m not going to share the dough. I will give all the submitters an ackowledgement, and sign a copy of the book for them. Of course, they’ll still have to buy the book. And pictures with the author will cost extra.
